Movie Magic Lee
The first movie I chose is Harry Potter because I felt the structure of color well. First, Brown and gray making quiet and mysterious mood are overall used in the background. And there are two opposite characters. One is a minister of the school. She is very short and has dark brown short hair. She is represented by pink. She is wearing pink coat, shoes, hat, and bag even strong pink lipstick. Her pink color is really outstanding and compared with background and other characters. The other is a professor who is wearing black gown. Also she is tall and dressed black clothes. Mostly, black color in movie means evil, badness but here, she looks kind. The minister and a professor are surrounded by many students who also wear black gowns. I felt there are two opposite positions. Those are very contrast by using colors; pink and black.
To make my mosaic of this movie I’m going to use brown color for the background, black to make one character, and various tones of pink to create another character. And then black chips representing students are placed under line.
The second movie I chose is Chicago. There‘s a woman who has white skin and blond hair. She is the only character. The background which is surrounding her is only black. However, she is really bright and glittering. To be more specific, she is wearing silver color dress and her figure is reflecting faintly on the bottom. The only one spot light is shining just on her. She is representing silver in the middle of black. And there are many men who wear black suits. It seems that all of them look at her and require her love. This scene is made of just two colors; shining silver and desiring black.
To make my second mosaic of this movie I’m going to chose only two colors; dark and light color. But there’s no silver color. Therefore I used white color in order to represent the shining woman. Above all, I express her body line by making curves and then in order to express bright and glittering feeling, I use some small white chips around. The important thing is the background in order to emphasize the shining woman. The background is filled with black color chips. And then dark blue chips are located like looking at shining woman at the bottom of the mosaic.
